I have done various clean eating detoxes since I started studying to be a Naturopathic Doctor 19 years ago. While I aim to eat fairly well most of the time, I am far from perfect (I have a hard time saying no to chips, which is why I try not to have them around too often!). Doing a detox improves my digestion, helps me sleep better, and reminds me of how good it feels to eat clean foods. It motivates me to increase my vegetable intake, get creative with my smoothies, and drink more water. Even after the detox is over, I am re-inspired to continue with these changes.
